About

Hinks’s practice represents the relationship between nature, technology and the sublime. As upon peering into another world with bold straight line structures which contrast curves and fluidity. The voids and chasms of space allude to universes. The unknown has always captured Hinks’s imagination and his works reflect the diverse elements, which surround us.

Hinks sets rules for his paintings, which he adheres to in his process of creating. Though each piece evolves uniquely due to the medium and moment. He re-evaluates at each stage of the process. These rules do not confine his practice but focus it. Painting has always been central to his practice though he has now literally expanded into sculpture, installation and virtual reality, as he strives to represent his concerns.
